Brain signal controlled powered wheelchair

This project is to develop a Brain Machine Interface (BMI) for controlling of an electric wheelchair specially focused for severely paralyzed personnel which can be controlled by his/her motion intensions. The use of powered wheel chair with high navigational intelligence extracted by the user is one of the great steps towards the integration of severely paralyzed people. Driving a wheel chair in domestic environments by himself/herself is an impossible task for people with no control over their body such as patients of Locked-In Syndrome (LIS) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The wheel chair is developed to overcome the above problem described above allowing the end users to perform safe movements and accomplish some daily life important tasks just with the controlling power of brain.
